+Adedoyin Jaiyesimi is a Writer, Editor, Communications professional and a lover of all things content. Her work has been featured on Connect Nigeria, Y! Magazine (now Y! Africa), Discovery, Pride Magazine Nigeria amongst others. She is the founder of LRouge Media, an editorial and brand consultancy company which provides content writing and editing services for websites, magazines and blogs and she is also the founder of The Sparkle Writer’s Hub.

I am a writer and communications professional. I love the media and I love creating content. I’m generally a serious-minded and focused person but I have my playful moments. Currently, I am the Brand Communications Manager at  +Victor Adeyemi Ministries where I manage the online brand of the Senior Pastor of   Global Harvest Church. I run my business LRouge Media, a content and social media consulting company and I am the founder of The Sparkle Writer’s Hub, a platform for upcoming writers, editors and content managers to hone their writing skills.

Determination – I am determined to succeed and make an impact; to fulfill my purpose. I always find a way out no matter how difficult it gets.

Faith – My faith in God is the essence of who I am. God is the reason I live. My faith keeps me grounded and focused.

Vision – I dream big. Sometimes the magnitude of my dreams scares me but they also excite me.

My father. He did a lot of things for me which I am very grateful for. He taught me to be confident. When I was too scared to ask or apply for something, he’d say to me, “The worst that will happen is that they will say no.” He also taught me how to set goals and how to dream bigger than my present reality.

Jesus Christ – He is the ultimate role model. Jesus has set an example for me regarding how I should behave and relate with other people. He motivates me to be a better person every day.

Mr Jaiyesimi – My father is a hardworking man who made something out of his life out of nothing. He always challenges me to look beyond the obstacles in front of me and focus on my goal.

Funke Adejumo – Her life story just inspires me. Every time I listen to her messages, I want to do more with my life. There is a way she fuels the fire of passion within me. She inspires me to live a life of purpose.

In the next five years, I want The Sparkle Writer’s Hub to become a platform where writers in Nigeria can connect with one another and have access to various opportunities within and outside Nigeria. I also want to have launched a platform where godly and intellectual content is produced and shared across various media outlets. It’s time for us to take over the media for Christ and I want to be one of the people who will spearhead that movement.

The African Woman’s Challenge:

The biggest challenge we face is the patriarchal belief that women are inferior. Every woman is created with a purpose because she is first and foremost an individual. By pursuing my purpose and documenting my journey on my blog, I encourage women to desire something that is bigger than them.

What I Do To Relax:

I find a quiet spot, it could be my room or a beach, and I listen to music or read a book. Sometimes I go for long walks in a quiet place.

I believe the African Woman should be inspired, celebrated and empowered because she is simply amazing. The average African woman is a strong woman. She is also intelligent too although the world has tried to suppress her intelligence over the years. I believe it’s time for more African women to be empowered. It will make a significant difference to our continent as a whole.

I would definitely love to be in charge of media and publicity. There are two reasons why. The first is that this is my area of expertise. The second is that the African woman needs to control her own narrative. We need to tell our story. We need to spotlight the giant strides African women are taking to encourage and inspire others. The media is very crucial in achieving this.

Final Words of Advice:

Aspire for greatness. Let your goal be to live footprints in the sands of time. That skill and talent that you have can be used to change lives. Don’t discard it. Hone it, improve on it and empower others with. Never let anyone tell you that your dream is impossible to achieve. Be determined and have faith in God.
