I am
Joy Akinola, a loving wife and fantastic mother to four lovely children. I am a
graduate of Food Science and Technology, a co-pastor at Global Harvest Church
Johannesburg, South Africa and convener of Singles & Married, a
multi-channel relationship building and life transformation programme.

WHAT FUELS ME?

Beauty:
It is the reflection of who we really are. For me, it goes beyond what i put on
and how I look physically. It starts from within and shows on the outside. It
is how I carry myself right from my inside and I see a reflection of it in my
entire life. Beauty is my life full of love, joy, peace, kindness, patience,
good counsel and optimism. My life is beautiful.
Fearless:
I am bold, confident and full of hope. I live in the assurance of victory that
I have as a result of my faith in God. My belief tells me that everything is
possible, coupled with my very positive husband hence no need to fear.
Warmth:
Life for me is about people and relationships. I love having people around me,
I’m very receptive and having a husband that is a life coach, concerned and
interested in making everyone to become the best they can be make it so easy to
have people around and maintain my warmth.
MY
GREATEST INFLUENCE:
My
parents, Elder & Mrs Joshua Oparaodu and my parents inlaw Chief & Mrs
Oshatimehin.
 MY TOP THREE ROLE MODELS:
Joyce
Meyer: I love and enjoy the story of her life, she did not give up on herself
and God. She is bold and beautiful, connecting people back to God on an
everyday basis. I love what she’s doing.

Jumoke
Adeyemi (Global Harvest Church): My very special mother, she’s stronG, energetic
and full of life. I love her passion and zeal towards whatever she has to do. She
is very bold and beautiful, changing lives for a better tomorrow.

Dr
Stephannie Oarhe (Hilltop International Christain Centre): She is a dear mother
to me. I learnt so much from her, having stayed under her leadership for so
long I have learnt how to build and nuture healthy relationships. Her
programmes brought a lot of answers to my questions about marriage and godly living.
She plays a very vital role in my life till date.
 IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS…..
In the
next five years, I should have completed both my masters and Ph.D programmes
and become a lecturer in a university.
I also
should have hosted at least three (3) major relationship conferences and also
planted branches of Global Harvest Churches in various cities in South Africa.  I should be able to support and encourage my
husband to achieve certain goals for our family.
Accountability:
[Laughing] I have a friend, teacher, of course a manager, my life coach; the
list is endless. He is my husband, Mr Harry Akinola. I am so accountable to
him.
 THE
AFRICAN WOMAN’S CHALLENGE:
The challenges
of African women are quite numerous, but a few critical ones are poverty,
physical and domestic abuses, absentee husbands/fathers and lack of
self-confidence.I host
a True love and relationship talk show (Singles & Married) which addresses
all these issues amongst others.
 WHAT I
DO TO RELAX:
I watch
movies with my husband. I spend quality time with my children and is the best
way I unwind, it’s amazing how at such times they all display different special
personalities that makes it all fun.
 MY
–   I.C.E. [INSPIRE|CELEBRATE|EMPOWER]
VISION
The
African woman needs to be inspired, celebrated and empowered because there is
so much to her than meets the eyes. She must be taught how to be the best she
can and impact lives starting from her immediate family, friends and the
communities at large.

MY
AFRICAN UNION PLANS:
I will
seek to occupy any position within the Women Empowerment Section, where one can
speak to educate and empower the African woman to discover, develop and unleash
her purpose and be the best she can be.

 FINAL WORDS OF ADVICE:
In the words of my husband, “there’s dignity in
‘womanity’, every woman need to realize this, search it out and be the best
they can be”. So, I will advise her to be bold and seek the beauty within her
regardless of the various circumstances she might be going through.
