My name is Funto Ibuoye and I’m the
founder of The Beautified Network and convener of the annual Becoming
Conference for women. I’m passionate about inspiring women to live up to their
full potential and live in the fullness of life God has called them to.
WHAT FUELS ME?
Fearless- not because I haven’t been afraid at certain points in
my life, but in spite of the fear I have gone ahead to do daring things and
take seemingly crazy decisions like resigning from my job as an accountant just
because I got bored of it and I knew there had to be MORE to me than just that.
Excellence- I don’t believe in doing anything if I’d not give it
my very best. Whether it’s a book I’m writing or an event I’m planning, it has
to be so excellently done that it would meet up to standards in any part of the
world.

3.
Joy- I’m so much of a joyful person; I love to laugh and play a
lot. Joy keeps me going daily and this joy is not based on anything that might
be happening on the outside but comes from the One who live inside of me.

MY GREATEST INFLUENCE:
Bishop David Oyedepo. I attended
Covenant University and the four years I spent there listening to Bishop speak
or preach occasionally had a major influence on me.

These women to me are not just role models; they are my LIFE
MODELS because they speak to every aspect of my life not just a particular
role. They are women who have continuously proven that a woman can HAVE IT ALL
in marriage, ministry, business or career! And one thing is constant with all
of them- the GOD factor! They are not ashamed to proclaim that God is the one
who has helped them to become all that they are.

IN THE NEXT FIVE
YEARS…..
YEARS…..
I have a list of lofty goals I want to
achieve within the next five years and yes I have a few friends including my
husband who keep me accountable; however my number one goal is to be doing what
God needs me to do per time and that means that I’m ready to drop all of my
lofty goals if He says that’s not what He needs me to do at any particular
time.

THE AFRICAN WOMAN’S CHALLENGE:
One major challenge I think African women contend with is the
BELIEF that they are not equal to men and this belief has been passed from
generation to generation and it is a major reason so many African women are
held back and hindered from living up to their FULL potential. The other day I
watched a documentary celebrating International Equality Day and they were
interviewing young girls; one of the girls said she’s training to become a
mechanical engineer because that will make her equal to men and immediately I
asked “who told you that you are not equal to men?” It’s pretty obvious that
somehow consciously or subconsciously that belief has been passed down to her.

One major way I’m contributing to remedy this is through the
annual BECOMING Conference whose sole aim is
to raise
inspired women who will live up to their full potential and contribute their
quota to transforming their societies and the world at large as they listen to and learn from the true stories of older women who
have attained
certain level of success and significance in their respective fields. Listening
to these stories will inspire them to go ahead and BECOME all they were created
for regardless of their background or circumstance and if these women could do
it, they too can!

WHAT
I DO TO RELAX:
I DO TO RELAX:
Presently in this season of my life
(being a first time and stay-at-home mom #superhousewife) the only way I know
how to unwind and get the tension off is to lock myself up in the bathroom for
a few minutes and just be alone! LOL!

I.C.E. [INSPIRE|CELEBRATE|EMPOWER] VISION
I think the African Woman should be
Inspired, Celebrated and Empowered because this will spur her into living in the FULLNESS of life she
has been created for and when this happens, she will be able to contribute
positively to the growth and development of her immediate society and the world
at large.

MY
AFRICAN UNION PLANS:
AFRICAN UNION PLANS:
Creating media campaigns (TVC, OOH, radio and online) that
promote gender equality; why? Because gender equality is a major cause I’m committed
to. Men and women are equal simply because God created them equal and so men
and women should have equal rights whether in the corporate, political or social
sphere.

FINAL WORDS OF ADVICE:
My advice would be- Never stop
believing in you. The only thing stopping you from being all you want to be is
you; if you believe you can, you certainly will, if you believe you can’t, you
certainly won’t! Believe the very BEST of yourself and in your power as a woman
because YOU’VE GOT THE POWER!
